Nothing In Common - Dent (Single)

FLK089 | 6th August 2021

Dent is the first single from the Stockholm band Nothing In Common’s debut Album – Trips Around The Sun. Nothing In Common comprises band members Alice Edstrom, Bo Bjorkman, and Pelle Sundin, who have been releasing music under the label Flak Records for the past two years.

Dent presents itself as a lovesick lullaby for listeners who know what it’s like to be caught up in the throes of a one-sided relationship. Singer Alice Edstrom’s vocals intertwine hauntingly with the ethereal melodies of Pelle Sundin’s guitar while drummer Bo Bjorkman reminds us of the steady pace one has to walk when trying to get over a lost relationship.

Although the band’s name is derived from the artist’s revelation that they had Nothing In Common when it came to their personal tastes in music, Dent reveals that there is a lived experience of heartbreak that each band member can relate to.

Dent’s lyrics ask unanswered questions to a past lover on whether or not they too still think of the relationship they once had. There is no denying that the muse being sung about left a searing mark on the relationship, which is further driven home through the lyrics ‘But I bet my two cents that I didn’t even leave a dent.’

As the first track on their debut album, Dent is merely the prequel of the emotional and musical talents that Nothing In Common explores in their Trips Around The Sun album which is set to release in the autumn and will be available across all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Deezer, SoundCloud, YouTube Music, and more.
